Bourque Faces Hearing, Again

Flames' forward Rene Bourque will have a disciplinary hearing with the NHL today after delivering an elbow to Capitals' center Nicklas Backstrom in the third period of Washington's 3-1 win Tuesday night.

Bourque went to the penalty box for elbowing, while Backstrom stayed in the game for two more shifts. He was unable to finish the game.

Bourque was suspended two games last month for a hit on Brent Seabrook of the Chicago Blackhawks.

It certainly appears that this most recent play was intentional. The other play is a little bit more fuzzy, but still something the NHL is trying to get rid of, so I understand the suspension.

With this, will we see another more exaggerated suspension sentence like we did with Sutton or Torres? We will keep up with this hearing and the date-unknown hearing of Carcillo who is still indefinately suspended at this time.
